Gather a few friends (max 5) or come solo for a relaxed, hands-on carving experience in my small garden studio. These sessions are perfect for those who want to slow down, carve with intention, and enjoy the meditative rhythm of working with wood.

 

With a small, personalised group, you'll get plenty of guidance as you shape salvaged timber into something unique whether it's a spoon, a small bowl, or a simple sculptural form.

Taster

Intro to Carving

Discover the joy of carving in this relaxed hands-on introduction to working with wood. You'll learn simple knife techniques while carving a small object, a collection of stacking stones, Wabi-Sabi bud vase, or a hand-held sculpture. Perfect for complete beginners, this session is about working the wood, and enjoying the meditative process of shaping something with your hands.

​No experience needed, just curiosity and a willingness to slow down.

Tools & materials provided (softwood chosen for ease of carving).

2.5 - 3 hours | Small group (3 - 5 people) | $100 per person

Half Day

Carve

Spoons, Bowls & Beyond

This workshop is for those who want to explore carving in more depth. Using a carving knife and gouge, you'll shape a small spoon or bowl from a soft wood, learning to work with the grain, control your cuts, and find the rhythm of the process.

 

Focus on technique and creativity no prior experience needed.

Learn about different woods and how to select, prepare, and carve them.

​

Discover the meditative aspect of carving, finding focus, patience, and flow.

 

By the end of the session, you'll have a hand-carved piece to take home and the confidence to keep carving.

The Solo

Carver

A Personalised Session 

Whether it's improving your carving technique, experimenting with new designs, or simply carving as a way to slow down and reconnect with your creativity.

 

Choose from a spoon, bowl, or small sculpture.

Get one-on-one guidance on technique, tool use, sharpening and wood selection.

A great option for those who want to dive deeper into the craft or explore carving at their own pace.
